East Quay Lobster Shack Venue in Whitstable is my absolute favourite wedding venue in Kent. I’ve shot a couple of weddings there and love it. It’s right on the beach (like actually right on the beach – in beautiful Whitstable no less), the ceremony overlooks the ocean, the dinner area is beautiful with open brick walls and loads of space. There’s even a separate dance floor area with loads of space to throw your shapes – plus a DJ booth in a fish tank.
Ceremonies take place up on the mezzanine, which has awesome sea views. There are only windows on one side though, so I recommend you face everyone towards the window. You can have up to 100 guests for the ceremony, and 120 for dinner. Their BBQ is served outside and is delicious and smells sooo good. Later on they do fish and chips – which you just have to have if you’re getting married at the beach. They also serve oysters during the reception, which always go down well – whenever I’ve shot there anyway! Apparently Whitstable is the home of the best oysters in the world so you have to do it.
East Quay Venue hire goes from £4,750 for a summer Saturday to £950 for a winter weekday *don’t quote me on that, it’s a guide price from the 2017 brochure and doesn’t include food, which is on average £950 for a simple BBQ for 100 people – not too bad!*
If you’re getting married at East Quay Venue Whitstable and looking for a local Kent wedding photographer, say hi!
