“They look amazing! The moments that you’ve photographed are priceless. Also the film!! The film is brilliant! Had us both in floods of (happy) tears 😭😁. Everyone said how at ease you made them feel and how after 5 mins they didn’t even realise you were taking photos of them!” Tom + Lucy
Tom and Lucy’s story:
“We met while studying Art Design at Norwich over 10 years ago. We met through friends and instantly hit it off. The rest as they say is history. When we both finished University and left Norwich we decided to do the long distance thing. Lucy in Broadstairs in Kent and me in South London. That went on for about 5 years until we eventually worked out a way, 3 years ago, for Lucy to move to London and for us to live together. This sort of thing can really make or break a relationship. For us it really made it!
“Last September I decided I was going to propose to Lucy in New York while on holiday there. Now I thought this would be fairly straight forward. Get the ring through security at Heathrow and propose at one of our favourite spots in Central Park. The first step was fine, no random bag searches and breezed through security without Lucy knowing I had her engagement ring securely stowed away in my bag. The latter however wasn’t as smooth. Our favourite spot in Central Park is the Alice in Wonderland statue. This at the time of our arrival there was being used as children’s climbing frame and the entire area was way too busy for a conservative person such as myself to propose to the woman of my dreams. So I decided that we would take a walk from there to a slightly quieter spot. I found said spot on a hill and we sat down on one of the rocks that looked they’d been dropped there from space. After five minutes of talking I decided this was the moment, so I reached into my bag, grabbed the box containing the ring and got down on one knee. She said YES! Phew thank goodness for that I thought. As we sat there in tears of happiness a musician was playing the trumpet near by. I still remember this. His playing started off well, but would then every now and again hit a really bum note. It made us laugh so much and is now one of the most important memories that goes with our relationship history.
“The one thing Tom can’t live without is Lucy’s spaghetti Bolognese. It’s the bomb! Even with gluten, wheat free and everything else free pasta. The one thing Lucy can’t live without is Tom’s cups of tea and his pointless and long winded stories that don’t really go anywhere. They’re adorable. Oh and of course we can’t live without each other!”
