{Top tips} 7 easy ways to look amazing in your wedding photos

Do you want the secret to looking totally gorgeous in your wedding pics? Follow these stupidly easy tips and you will. Bingo wings and stress zits can do one.

1. FIND A WINDOW

Get ready in a bright, uncluttered room with lots of window light. It’s a really soft, flattering light. Also, a venue with lots of lovely natural light will make you and your photos look amazing.wedding-belair-house-london-abigail-ian-10

2. BOOK A MAKE-UP ARTIST

They know how to make you look great for your photographs, and some even mix you up the perfect foundation for your skin tone and give you a little pot of it to keep you looking gorgeous all day and night.

3. PRACTISE POSTURE

Stand up straight, with your shoulders slightly back and your chin tipped up a little. It’s good for your posture and it makes you look slimmer and really elegant. Practise holding yourself like this when you’re waiting for the train – it will soon become second nature. Or just do this:

4. STOP POSING

Allow yourself to be natural. Ignore the urge to pose and smile when the camera is turned on you, and don’t hide your emotions – the laughing and tearful pictures are the ones that you’ll look at again in 20 years and remember exactly how you felt at that moment.

 5. USE THE GOLDEN HOUR

Consider taking 10 minutes to pop outside with your photographer at sunset. The “golden hour” is when you get those dreamy photos.

6. SPEAK TO THE DJ

For the first dance (or in fact the entire evening), ask your DJ to turn off those coloured spotty lights that fly around the room. You’ll end up with purple, red and yellow splodges on your face and dress in the photos otherwise (and black and white can’t fix it). I always ask the DJ to turn these off, so don’t worry if you forget, but it’s something to bear in mind, as many photographers don’t do this.

7. ZAP THE ZITS

Ask your wedding photographer if they would Photoshop out any zits that pop up on the day. Stress causes spots, and you don’t want that on every photo, staring back at you.
