East Quay Lobster Shack Venue Wedding // Yannika + Shane

This East Quay Lobster Shack Venue Kent wedding was so stunning – we lucked out with the weather, the skies were blue, the sun was shining and the seagulls were squawking.

Yannika and Shane live in Switzerland, and travelled all the way to sunny Kent to get married at East Quay Lobster Shack Venue in Whitstable. It was a glorious September day by the seaside, and when I arrived Yannika was having her makeup done by Shane’s lovely mum.

The ceremony took place upstairs at East Quay Lobster Shack Venue, overlooking the ocean, and the reception was outdoors on the beach. The speeches had me welling up behind the camera (the song from the bride’s cousin and sister was meant to be funny but I still got all soppy!).

East Quay Lobster Shack Venue themselves didn’t hold back on the seaside theme – the oyster shucker was providing delicious fresh Whitstable oysters for everyone and the buffet spread was delicious – these guys do great food (fish and chips later in the evening is their specialty).

“If you are reading this and considering Anna, don’t hesitate. We and our guests were blown away by her work. When we received her pictures we spent the evening viewing them with a glass of wine and our wedding playlist… it was like re-living the day and discovering a number of moments we had missed. Anna has the talent not only to capture the best moments… but also the emotion, the vibe and the atmosphere of the day. Thanks to Anna you won’t just get pictures, but a little time machine instead.” Yannika + Shane”

Yannika’s cousin was a bridesmaid and has such a wonderfully animated face!

Yannika and her mum walked from the hotel to the venue past all the colourful beach huts.

Of course I made them get in the sea…

Yannika’s sister and cousins wrote a song and printed the lyrics for everyone to sing along as a surprise for Shane and Yannika. It was beautiful and I was in absolute tears.

The song-thing is very common for parties like weddings and birthdays in Denmark, where you change the lyrics of known songs to stories about the couple. Depending on the guests, every second speech will have a song. The prints are often hidden in special decorations that the couple will keep as a reminder.ReplyCancel

It’s a good thing I don’t live in Denmark then, I’d be in tears at every wedding! It was awesome!!
