So last Thursday I discovered the beauty that is Somerset! It was a late start wedding and I’d stayed the night before (I don’t trust motorways) so while Emma was swimming and getting massaged (perfect wedding morning!) I spent the morning wandering through the woods at Longleat in nearby Wiltshire watching the early morning sun rays cut through the pine trees and feeling like I was the only person on earth. I also stayed nearby on the night of the wedding, and had a good chat with a guy who worked at the bnb about trees (as one does) – he decided I was worthy of a book about trees that he’d been waiting two years for the right person to come along and give it to. Random!
The wedding day started in a super fancy suite at Babington House, which apparently Beyonce has stayed in. The bed was the size of a flat in London and the ceiling was taller than a double decker bus.
Emma, the bride, is the sister of my friend Simon, whose wedding I shot last November in London, who also DJed for Emma and Jason’s party. The ceremony was at the tiny chapel on the grounds of the house, and the party was in the massive garden, complete with festoon lighting (heart!).
