The Peasant is one of my favourite London wedding venues – it’s relaxed, has good food and they serve me constant cups of tea.
I’ve known Simon for 10 years, when we created a magazine together called Banter – it was rude, silly and hilarious. However for some reason the publisher (Michael Heseltine) didn’t see the potential in a magazine that had a blow-up doll on the cover, and so Banter became no more than toilet reading for the few people who bagged a test copy. But I did make some awesome new friends from the project, today’s groom Simon being one of them. An Ibiza DJ and magazine journo, Simon met Hannah last year, they fell in love and eloped in Las Vegas (why oh why didn’t they fly me over to take their wedding photos?! That would have been so fun!!) But their London vow renewal last weekend was such a great laugh that I’ll forgive them 😉 It was Star Wars themed, with a bit of an Ibiza theme thrown in, and the favours were books relevant to each guest. Oh and it turned out I was sat next to a lady at dinner who’s husband (sitting next to her) was a Loaded magazine editor I’d interviewed 9 years early for my journalism disseration at university. Small world! This wedding was full of awesome characters and I had a great time snapping them…
