I love Wise Weddings in Kent – it’s a woodland wedding venue with sofas hanging from the trees, fairy-light-covered treehouses (where you can spend the night) and neon tubes running through the woods. So beautiful. I was super excited to shoot a wedding there, and it didn’t disappoint. Louise and Scott had a beautiful barefoot Pagan handfasting ceremony in the woodland clearing, with the bridesmaids and groomsmen passing on the handfasting ribbons and a family friend conducting the ceremony.
When I walked into the hotel room for bridal prep I was hit with this scene of Louise cutting her own hair on the morning of the wedding! That face is about right 😉
The girls were dropped off in a groomsman’s pick-up truck!
Scott held a wooden staff (which he carved himself) with a feather on top, and wore feathers in his hair, which he’d found in his treehouse that morning! They were so chilled and lovely, and this made the whole day super relaxed.
Louise told me in the morning that I’ll probably see Scott’s bum as he’s always mooning people, and then her sister’s phone rang and the photo that popped up on the screen of the caller was her boyfriend’s bare bum. Ok, I thought, there’s a theme emerging here. So when we did group photos, I asked to see their bums. They didn’t hesitate. Suddenly all the female guests were very interested in watching the group photos 😉
So Scott hated the camera and Louise was pretty much the opposite!
The party in the evening started with the first dance, but to mix things up a bit I asked a guest to blow his vape smoke in between my flash and the couple – I love the result! Something a little different 🙂
