I’m so excited to share these photos of my beautiful cousin, who is London yoga teacher Beth Pumer. We haven’t seen each other for years, but we had such a laugh together doing a shoot in Brighton a couple of weeks ago for her new yoga website. She spends half her time in London and the other half in Miami (hence the golden tan) teaching yoga. She’s incredibly strong – she fell out of a handstand (on a slope in a doorway) and managed to slow-mo all the way down!
We met up in sunny Brighton, and our day started off with a hilarious and wonderful moment: we’d taken a few photos down a rough graffiti alley, where Liz realised later she’d left her notebook of yoga poses and affirmations. We hotfooted it back down to the alley, but before we got there, we heard a voice coming from in front of us: “I intend to allow all past pains, fear and resentments to leave my body, soul and mind…” Liz looked up and saw a hippy dreadlocked man reading her book out loud as he walked! He made us prove it was hers before giving it back, then told us the affirmations had inspired him to start the business he’d always dreamed of. It set us off on a positive path for the rest of the day. The day ended with a happy golden retriever joining in on the sunset beach shots – we couldn’t have asked for a happier day. And wait till you see that sunset. The sky was on fire! Even the potheads we asked to move for a shot were in awe of it…
Liz’s lovely friend Erika joined us for a bit, and took some brilliant videos and photos of me working! I’ve added a couple here. I’m going to add more video and behind the scenes stuff to future blog posts – it makes it much more fun to see what it was like to be there.
When I delivered the photos to Liz, she send me a voice message – I just have to share it with you, I was almost in tears:
I’m going to be taking on more work like this, I guess you could call it commercial lifestyle photography 🙂 So if you’d like photos for your website, please get in touch! My style is natural, personal and fun. No boring corporate headshots here!
Here I am doing my thing, crouching in the middle of a busy street in Brighton!
